Maggie has been teaching yoga since 2012, but her fascination with movement and body awareness began long ago when she trained as a ballet dancer and started teaching dance during college. She then went on to enjoy running a successful recruiting business in New York City, M. Luca & Associates. She reconnected to her dancing past and started practicing yoga on a regular basis in 2010. Perhaps influenced by her daughter who is also a yoga teacher (in Brazil), Maggie applied to and completed her Yoga Teacher Training at Mang’Oh in 2012.
Since then, she has plunged into teaching a wide range of students. She particularly enjoys teaching vinyasa at Mang’Oh and helping students with physical challenges and movement disorders. She obtained an advanced teaching certification in Yoga for Arthritis in 2013 and a certification in Yin Yoga at the beginning of 2014 at Integral Yoga. Maggie also spent a few weeks at an ashram in India studying the roots of Yogic philosophy. She is presently enrolled at Integral Yoga for a 300-hour certification in Yoga Therapy. Maggie hopes to share her enthusiasm for the benefits of yoga with the Mang’Oh community.
