Erica’s Favorites: Morning Rituals

I do the same thing every morning, and there is comfort in that. I drink a big glass of water and brush my teeth the moment I wake. I feed my son in bed while my husband slowly wakes up, and then we all cuddle and play. Then we head to the kitchen and I have a green smoothie, take my vitamins, and make coffee.
Before having Charlie, I would do a mantra with my mala beads and then meditate in silence for 5-10 minutes. I want to find a way to do that again down the road!
However, taking some time in the morning to quietly play with my son – being truly present, without trying to multitask – is my meditation practice for this stage of my life.
