The Yamas: Asteya, Non-Stealing
7 Jul 2015
We’ve partnered up with some amazing Cape Town illustrators to bring the Yoga Sutras to life. Every other week, we include a drawing that showcases one of the sutras which form the foundation of yoga philosophy. We’ve started with the Yamas, or abstentions, which shows how we relate to the external world.
The third Yama is Asteya, or “non-stealing”. We shouldn’t take things that are not freely given, and when someone entrusts us with something, we shouldn’t use this to our advantage. This even includes being conscious of others’ time and energy, making sure that we are always considerate in our requests of others.
