Yoga Pose of The Month: Urdhva Dhanurasana
25 Jan 2016
Urdhva Dhanurasana is often called Wheel Pose, and can be translated as Upward Bow Pose as well. It is a deep backbend that really opens up the chest, shoulders, and creates release in the thoracic spine. Energetically, it is a powerful heart chakra opener which facilitates a sense of freedom, compassion, and receptivity. Because this pose is such a powerful backbend, move into it with mindfulness and take your time to listen to how your body feels. Once you’re in it, breathe steadily and enjoy the uplifting sensation in your heart!
