Eka Pada Rajakapotasana is King Pigeon Pose and is a deep hip opener. The pose targets so many different parts of the hip – the psoas, the hip flexor, the hip joint, and the groin. Taking slow, deliberate breaths while maintaining the pose for an extended period of time can create an ease and suppleness to the hip area. Our hips can be huge reservoirs of emotional stress and tension, which is why so many practitioners experience many emotional releases within the pose!
