300-Hour Advanced Teacher Training
Dive in deeper with The Yoga Common’s modular program.
The Program
What does it mean to get to the heart of our individual purpose and passion so we can step into our teaching and lives with more clarity?
For those interested in a deeper exploration into the meaning of teaching yoga, The Yoga Common’s modular 300-hour Yoga Alliance registered Advanced Teacher Training offers a pathway for you to hone your teaching voice, refine your skills as an instructor, and consider your impact as a leader – all on your schedule – through a mix of required and elective modules over an 18-month period.
The Yoga Common has been training yoga teachers for more than a decade through its 200-hour Yoga Alliance registered program.
Now, The Yoga Common 300-Hour Yoga Alliance registered Advanced Teacher Training provides a rigorous, community-minded, and flexible program for those wishing to dive in deeper.
The Yoga Common’s advanced 300-hour teacher training is an 18-month, modular program, designed for those who have completed a 200-hour teacher training and possess a curiosity and interest in what it means to be a yoga teacher – including recent graduates just starting on their teaching path or those who have been teaching for years and are seeking inspiration.
The training structure includes both required and elective modules so you can choose the path and schedule that fits your life and interests best. The Yoga Common’s 300-hour training delivers rigor and depth alongside flexibility so teacher trainees can study at an independent pace while balancing the demands of work and personal lives. An opening retreat at Lifebridge Sanctuary in Hudson Valley, NY will nurture a supportive training community.

September 2023: Upstate Retreat: Art of Sequencing & Honing Your Teaching Voice (50 Hours)

Guided by The Yoga Common owner Erica Whalen and Director of Teacher Training Andrea Lodico, the retreat will provide a deep exploration of how to hone your unique teaching voice through the lens of the art of sequencing. A vigorous vinyasa practice will kickstart our mornings, followed by twice daily sessions that dig into how to intelligently and creatively sequence classes with abundant time for practice teaching and feedback. The emphasis will be on how to thread your creativity and individual approach within a thoughtfully designed class framework. Topics will include:
Sequencing methodologies
Sourcing inspiration for class planning
Creating balance by carefully curating mood, energy, flow, and release
Weaving in meditation, pranayama, and dharma talks, and more.
We’ll journey to Lifebridge Sanctuary in Rosendale, NY, an idyllic spot in Hudson Valley, NY – less than two hours from NYC. The retreat is intended for you to get away from the hustle and bustle of your daily routine and offer dedicated space and time for you to step into the advanced teacher training while nurturing a community of trainees and faculty.

Like our acclaimed 200-hour training, The Yoga Common’s advanced training is rooted in deep learning, abundant practice teaching, mentorship, and community. Advanced teacher trainees will be integrated into the fabric of the studio as students and teachers – TTs will have the opportunity to practice at The Yoga Common throughout their training as well as teach community classes (and receive feedback from their mentors) so you can integrate the teachings and insight gained as you go.
As we navigate ongoing shifts to what it looks like and means to teach yoga, The Yoga Common’s advanced training will support your growth and evolution as a teacher, creative being, and human. What we will dive into together is the uncovering of your distinct teaching mission and the illumination of your creative power.
